“We’re always enthusiastic about hosting Three Rivers Film Festival screenings,” said Carolina Thor, CEO of The Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center. “The Lindsay’s partnership with Film Pittsburgh is yet another example of how the theater continues to extend cultural experiences into suburban and rural areas beyond the city.”
According to representatives for The Lindsay Theater, screenings will follow the schedule below:
Nov. 15, 5 p.m. - "'Flow' is an animated adventure about a cat whose home is devastated by a destructive flood. He seeks refuge on a drifting sailboat, along with a collection of other displaced animals searching for dry land. This visually sumptuous and heartfelt film also happens to be Latvia’s submission for Best International Feature at the 2025 Academy Awards."
Nov. 15, 7 p.m. - "'On Becoming a Guinea Fowl' currently boasts a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score and recently earned Rungano Nyoni a directing prize at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. This internationally produced dramedy follows a woman whose impassive response to her uncle’s death hints at her middle-class Zambian family’s repressed secrets that may soon come to light."
Nov. 16, 4 p.m. - "'The Great One' is a sweet, nostalgic tale of a sportswriter reminiscing about her childhood passions: baseball and the 1970s Pirates. Think 'The Sandlot,' but in Pittsburgh and centered around a group of preteens’ natural adoration for the late Roberto Clemente. This screening will be followed by a question and answer with members of the film’s production team."
Nov. 16, 7 p.m. - "'Basic Psych' is a cat-and-mouse thriller directed by Melissa Martin ('The Bread,' 'My Sweet'). The film stars Michael Cerveris ('The Gilded Age') as a psychiatrist who believes one of his patients (David Conrad, 'Ghost Whisperer') is threatening his family. A question and answer with members of the 'Basic Psych' filmmaking team will take place following the screening."
Nov. 17, 4 p.m. - "'Small Town Universe' is a riveting documentary that paints an intimate portrait of life in Green Bank, West Virginia, home to the world's most sensitive radio telescope and the only U.S. town that bans Wi-Fi and cell phones. This screening will be followed by a question and answer with some of the film’s subjects."
Nov. 17, 7 p.m. - "'Bob Trevino Likes It' won the 2024 SXSW film festival’s narrative feature competition. Barbie Ferreira ('Euphoria') and John Leguizamo ('Moulin Rouge!') star in this clever comedy about an upbeat young woman who forges an unlikely friendship with a man who has the exact same name as her deadbeat father."
